Call for Papers for the “Energy Demand Pathways for Climate Resilient Cities” session at the upcoming International Congress on Environmental Modelling and Software
Submissions of Papers to the “Energy Demand Pathways for Climate Resilient Cities” session at the upcoming International Congress on Environmental Modelling and Software, 23-27 June 2024, Michigan, USA are now open.
The session gathers the knowledge of frontiers in socio-environmental systems to identify, discuss and evaluate the potential of socio-behavioural, infrastructure and technology interventions over different sectors -e.g., buildings, transport, and food- and various geographical scales toward climate-resilient cities. The aim is to discuss the novel practices and methods in socio-environmental modelling and explore how energy demand transitions can contribute to rapid and deep climate change mitigation towards 1.5°C. The session will cover a wide range of approaches and methods to simulate human-environment interactions and (qualitatively and quantitively) assess the impacts of low energy demand interventions on climate change, human health and wellbeing.
The organizers look forward to contributions and the opportunity to engage in fruitful discussions during the conference. Contributions will enrich the discussions and help advance our understanding of energy demand pathways for creating climate-resilient cities.
Abstract submission deadline: 5 April 2024
