The IAMC Seventh Annual Meeting will be held this year from November 17 through the morning of November 19, in College Park, Maryland. Abstract submission is now closed. The main meeting will be conducted over the first two full days, and there will be an additional half-day on the 19th devoted to working meetings of several Scientific Working Groups. All IAMC members are welcome to attend the Scientific Working Group meetings on the 19th. A detailed agenda and logistics will be forthcoming, and information about the meeting will be posted on this page as it becomes available.
The meeting will open on Monday, November 17 with a plenary session until noon. The afternoon of November 17 and the morning of November 18 will be devoted to four half-day sessions on cutting edge areas of integrated assessment model development and research. The topics listed below will be presented two at a time, in parallel sessions. IAMC will also host a poster session and reception following the parallel session on Monday, November 17.
The topics for the four parallel sessions are:
- Modeling climate impacts, adaptation, and vulnerability in integrated assessment.
- Using integrated assessment models to inform near-term international policy discussions – looking ahead to Paris and beyond.
- The importance of heterogeneity in capturing real world dynamics; what is the appropriate resolution for representing complex decision processes in IAMs?
- Interactions between ESMs (Earth System Models) and IAMs and advances in a new generation of earth system component emulators.
These sessions will include presentations on cutting edge research activities from members of the community followed by open group discussion of key priorities in each area. It is expected that each session will include six to eight short presentations, potentially including several invited presentations.
