Shinichiro FUJIMORI
During the Fourteenth IAMC Annual Meeting held online last 29 November – 3 December 2021, the Integrated Assessment Modeling Consortium was proud to honour Shinichiro FUJIMORI (Kyoto University/NIES) with the Extraordinary Contributions to the field of Integrated Assessment Modeling Award.
Shinichiro Fujimori has been contributing to the IAM Community for many years. His expertise and influence in the field has contributed to the development of IAM-related studies, especially in Asian countries. He has played a remarkable role in expanding the field of IAM beyond Japan to other parts of Asia which is critically important. Over the last few years, Shinichiro has been an extremely important force in supporting these efforts. This year, the impact of these extraordinary contributions was demonstrated in a paper published in Nature Climate Change on national IAM analysis exploring a whole range of mitigation targets in individual countries. His active and central involvement in both policy-relevant analysis, and the expansion of the IAM community are activities well aligned with those of the IAMC and make him a truly deserving recipient of the award.
